Welcome to the journal.
This space is more than just updates and insights — it’s where I get to share the real story behind the hair, the styling, the strategy, and everything in between. The lessons, the pivots, the power moves and the softer ones too. If you’re here, you’re part of the journey — and I’m so glad to have you.
After my time at Tsiknaris Hair, it’s time for me to turn the page...
I’ve always believed growth demands courage — The kind of courage that asks you to let go of comfort, back yourself fully, and step toward something unknown… but deeply aligned, even if you can’t see the full path yet.
I’ve jumped into the unknown my entire life. And no matter how many times I do it, it’s still scary. You lose things. You lose people. But often, they weren’t meant for the version of you that’s coming next.
I didn’t grow up with the odds in my favour.
Raised in Far North Queensland, my schooling had gaps from Grade 7. I was out of home by 15. Failed Year 10. Moved to South East Queensland at 17. It took blood, sweat, and tears to even get that far — only to be hit with ten surgeries in five years, some of which I’m lucky to have walked away from.
Life handed me a story that could have ended small, or not begun at all. One where I played safe. Settled. Shrunk.
But I didn’t!
Every scar, every restart, every so-called failure built the kind of courage you can’t teach — only earn. The kind that comes from showing up again and again, even when it would be easier to tap out.
And growth called again. And I’ve never been one to stay still...
The last five years have been deeply transformative — not just for my craft, but for my growth as a person. Some might look at my many moves and changes and call them unfocused or disruptive. But when your life begins in survival mode, you don’t get the luxury of knowing who you are, what you love, or where you want to go. You’re just trying to make it through the days.
What people don’t see is the twelve years of tireless work it took — from 13 to 25, with no safety net — just to reach a place where I finally had the space to explore who I am. And now, for the first time, I get to choose with intention: to follow what sets my soul on fire, to align with what feels right, and to move forward not just with grit, but with clarity.
That’s not chaos. That’s freedom.
So now, I begin a new chapter with the Togninis family — a place I’ve long admired, with people who feel like home. This isn’t just a salon move. It’s a return to who I’ve become: someone ready to own their next level. Authentically. Unapologetically.
This isn’t reinvention. This is expansion.
More vision. More meaning. More of what makes hair powerful — and personal.
If you’ve followed my journey, thank you.If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’re watching from the sidelines wondering when it’ll be your time — maybe this is your sign.
Growth starts where comfort ends!
Domi xx
